API documentation
OpenAPI · Swagger
Public REST endpoints of Missale Online, accessible without signing in — liturgical calendar, Mass texts, Psalter and Vulgata Clementina. Following the Frappe convention, all JSON responses are wrapped in
{ "message": … } . The machine-readable specification is at
/api/method/liturgia.api.openapi.
Without explicit source parameters, the language is sufficient: each passage uses the primary source, with gaps filled from the configured second source. If both are missing, the text cell remains empty. The response identifies the actual source. Explicit source parameters filter the published edition; guests only receive published texts.
The order of Mass is in mass_order as a sequence of
{part, sequence}. Multiple readings are interspersed with their prayers and chants. form=short selects the short form on Ember Saturdays; the default is long.
available_forms lists the permitted forms.
office_kind distinguishes the day from its Mass formulary. Additional Masses are marked in calendar entries with
is_additional_mass=true; their prayers are not commemorations.
Scripture references in parts[].scripture still contain
url and ref. The optional array
passages lists each passage in reading order, including skipped verses and additional chapters. Each passage contains book, chapter, verse_start,
verse_end, url and ref. Verse bounds are inclusive; psalms use Vulgate numbering. Without passages the existing reference remains usable. Under get_day these details are in mass.
Guest responses may be cached. Previews for signed-in users are served with Cache-Control: private, no-store and are not available offline.
Published resources with content_release use a fixed text version.
content_rows contains the complete reading order and each passage's translation status;
source fields and additional metadata not yet modeled remain empty.
