Stufengebet Psalm 42

℣. Introíbo ad altáre Dei. ℟. Ad Deum, qui lætíficat juventútem meam. ℣. Júdica me, Deus, et discérne causam meam de gente non sancta: ab hómine iníquo et dolóso érue me. ℟. Quia tu es, Deus, fortitúdo mea: quare me repulísti, et quare tristis incédo, dum afflígit me inimícus? ℣. Emítte lucem tuam et veritátem tuam: ipsa me deduxérunt et adduxérunt in montem sanctum tuum et in tabernácula tua. ℟. ℣. Amen.

℣. I will go in to the altar of God. ℟. To God who giveth joy to my youth. ℣. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation which is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. ℟. For Thou, O God, art my strength: why hast Thou cast me off? and why go I sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? ℣. Send forth Thy light and Thy truth: they have conducted me and brought me unto Thy holy mount, and into Thy tabernacles. ℟. And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth. ℣. I confess to almighty God, to the blessed Mary ever Virgin, blessed Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, to all the Saints, and to you, brothers, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed: through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. ℟. May almighty God be merciful to thee, and forgiving thy sins, bring thee to everlasting life. ℣. Amen.

Introitus Psalm 118,1

(Alleluia, alleluia.) (Alleluia, alleluia.)

The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law. And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed. (Alleluia, alleluia.) Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law. And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed. Oratio

Deus, qui per stultítiam Crucis eminéntem Jesu Christi sciéntiam beátum Justínum Mártyrem mirabíliter docuísti: ejus nobis intercessióne concéde; ut, errórum circumventióne depúlsa, fídei firmitátem consequámur.

O God, Who through the preaching of the Cross, which is to them that perish foolishness, didst wonderfully teach unto thy blessed martyr Justin the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus Our Lord, grant unto us at his prayers the grace to cast off all false teaching and ever to hold fast to the faith.

Commemoratio Oratio — Ss.

Almighty God, for Whom holy Tiburtius, Valerian, and Maximus uplifted their testimony, grant, we beseech Thee, unto all whosoever call the same to solemn memory, grace to imitate the example of their godly courage.

Lesson from the first letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness; but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe. For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness: But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and justice, and sanctification, and redemption:

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain, alleluia. I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject, alleluia, alleluia. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain, alleluia. Furthermore I count all things to be but loss for the excellent knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord, alleluja.

Evangelium Lukas 12,2–8

Continuation + of the Holy Gospel according to Luke For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed: nor hidden, that shall not be known. For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness, shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers, shall be preached on the housetops. And I say to you, my friends: Be not afraid of them who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will shew you whom you shall fear: fear ye him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Yea, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows. And I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.

Offertorium 1. Korinther 2,2

(Alleluia.)

For I judged not myself to know anything among you, but Jesus Christ, and him crucified. (Alleluia)

Hæc quotiescúmque fecéritis, in mei memóriam faciétis.

We therefore, humbly pray and beseech Thee, most merciful Father, through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, that Thou wouldst vouchsafe to accept and bless these gifts, these presents, these holy unspotted Sacrifices. Which oblation do Thou, O God, vouchsafe in all respects, to bless, approve, ratify, make worthy and acceptable; that it may be made for us the Body and Blood of Thy most beloved Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Who, the day before He suffered, took bread into His holy and venerable hands, and with His eyes lifted up towards heaven unto Thee, God, His almighty Father, giving thanks to Thee, He blessed it, broke it and gave it to His disciples saying: Take and eat ye all of this: FOR THIS IS MY BODY. In like manner, after He had supped, taking also this excellent chalice into His holy and venerable hands, He likewise, giving thanks to Thee, blessed it, and gave it to His disciples, saying: Take and drink ye all of this: FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL TESTAMENT, THE MYSTERY OF FAITH, WHICH SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR MANY UNTO THE REMISSION OF SINS. As often as ye do these things, ye shall do them in remembrance of Me.

Pater Noster Matthäus 6,9–13

Pater noster, qui es in cælis, sanctificétur nomen tuum. Advéniat regnum tuum. Fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidiánum da nobis hódie. Et dimítte nobis débita nostra, sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris. Et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem. Sed líbera nos a malo. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

Kommunion

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi: miserére nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi: miserére nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi: dona nobis pacem.

Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

3. Nachmesse

Repósita est mihi coróna justítiæ, quam reddet mihi Dóminus in illa die justus judex. (Alleluia)

As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day (Alleluia)

Postcommunio

Cœlésti alimónia refécti, súpplices te, Dómine, deprecámur: ut, beáti Justíni Mártyris tui mónitis, de accéptis donis semper in gratiárum actióne maneámus.

Per Christum, Dóminum nostrum. Amen. ℣. Benedícat vos omnípotens Deus, Pater, et Fílius, ✝ et Spíritus Sanctus. ℟. Amen.

℣. Go, the Mass is ended. ℟. Thanks be to God. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. ℣. May almighty God the Father, Son, ✝ and Holy Ghost, bless you. ℟. Amen.

Letztes Evangelium Johannes 1,1–14

℟. Deo grátias.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him: and without Him was made nothing that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men: and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light. That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, He gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in His Name: who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us: and we saw His glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. ℟. Thanks be to God.
