Deus, qui beátum Marcum Evangelístam tuum evangélicæ prædicatiónis grátia sublimásti: tríbue, quǽsumus; ejus nos semper et eruditióne profícere et oratióne deféndi.

O God, Who didst exalt thy blessed Evangelist Mark, by giving him grace to preach thine Evangel, grant unto us, we beseech thee, ever to follow more and more what he teacheth, and ever to be shielded from all evil by his prayers.

Lesson from the book of Ezekiel And as for the likeness of their faces: there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side of all the four: and the face of an ox, on the left side of all the four: and the face of an eagle over all the four. Beáti Marci Evangelístæ tui sollemnitáte tibi múnera deferéntes, quǽsumus, Dómine: ut, sicut illum prædicátio evangélica fecit gloriósum: ita nos ejus intercéssio et verbo et ópere tibi reddat accéptos.

We offer thee our gifts, O Lord, on the Festival of blessed Mark, thy Evangelist, and we pray, that we may ever profit by his teaching, and defended by his prayers.

Lætábitur justus in Dómino, et sperábit in eo: et laudabúntur omnes recti corde, allelúja, allelúja.

The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised, allelúja. allelúja.

Tríbuant nobis, quǽsumus, Dómine, contínuum tua sancta præsídium: quo, beáti Marci evangelístæ tui précibus, nos ab ómnibus semper tueántur advérsis.

May thy holy mysteries, we ask, O Lord, be to us a continual safeguard, and through the prayers of blessed Mark, thy Evangelist, ever defend us from all adversities.
